Bouncing Around
1. Booking and deposit
A 25% deposit is required to secure all bookings. Your booking is not confirmed until the deposit has been received and confirmation has been provided by Bouncing Around.
The remaining balance must be paid by the agreed date or when the equipment is delivered, depending on the arrangements confirmed for your booking.
Deposits are normally non-refundable except where the booking is affected by extreme weather conditions, as explained below.
2. Delivery area and fuel charges
Bouncing Around is based in Carluke and provides hire throughout North and South Lanarkshire.
Bookings outside our normal delivery area may be accepted by prior arrangement. A fuel or delivery charge may apply, particularly for hires more than 10 miles from our base. Any additional charge will be confirmed before the booking is completed.
Customers must provide accurate information about the delivery address, access and setup location.
3. Access to the setup area
The customer must advise us in advance about:
- Stairs or steps leading to the setup area
- Narrow entrances, gates or restricted access
- Long walking distances from the delivery vehicle
- Whether an extension cable is required
- Whether the nearest power supply is more than 25 metres away
Failure to provide accurate access information may prevent the equipment from being installed safely.
4. Outdoor hires and ground conditions
Outdoor inflatables must be placed on suitable, level grass so that they can be anchored safely.
We do not set inflatables up on gravel, stones or any other unsuitable surface unless this has been specifically discussed and approved in advance.
The customer must ensure that the setup area is clear of:
- Sharp objects
- Animal mess
- Garden furniture
- Overhanging branches
- Washing lines
- Underground hazards
- Other obstructions
We reserve the right to refuse installation if the area is unsuitable or cannot be made safe.
5. Weather conditions
Outdoor hire is dependent on safe weather conditions.
Bouncing Around may cancel, postpone or stop a hire where strong winds, heavy rain, storms or other extreme conditions make the equipment unsafe to use.
Where we cancel an outdoor booking because of extreme weather, the customer may be offered:
- A change of date; or
- A refund of the deposit
The final decision on whether equipment can be installed or used safely remains with Bouncing Around.
6. Supervision and safe use
A responsible adult aged 18 or over must supervise the equipment at all times.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that:
- Users follow all safety instructions
- The inflatable is not overcrowded
- Larger and smaller children are separated where necessary
- Shoes, glasses, jewellery and sharp objects are removed
- No food, drinks, chewing gum or face paint are taken onto the inflatable
- No climbing, sitting or hanging on the walls or safety netting takes place
- No one uses the equipment while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Anyone with a medical condition that may make use unsafe does not participate
Bouncing Around is not responsible for injuries caused by misuse, lack of supervision or failure to follow the hire instructions.
7. No water on inflatables
Water must not be used on any inflatable under any circumstances.
This includes hoses, buckets, water balloons, paddling pools and any other form of water play.
Using water on the equipment may cause damage, make the inflatable unsafe and result in additional cleaning or repair charges.
8. Cleanliness and cleaning charges
All equipment is cleaned and checked after every hire.
The customer must return the equipment in a reasonably clean condition. Food, drinks, chewing gum, face paint, silly string, confetti, mud and other substances must not be allowed on the inflatables.
Where equipment is returned excessively dirty or contaminated because the hire conditions were not followed, a cleaning charge starting from £50 may apply. Higher charges may be made where specialist cleaning, additional labour or equipment repairs are required.
9. Damage and loss
The customer is responsible for the equipment during the hire period.
Any damage, loss or theft caused by misuse, negligence, lack of supervision or failure to follow instructions may be charged to the customer.
The equipment must not be moved, altered, deflated or disconnected without permission from Bouncing Around.
Any problem or damage must be reported immediately.
10. Setup, collection and safety checks
All inflatables will be delivered, installed and collected by Bouncing Around.
Customers must not attempt to move or reposition installed equipment.
Our inflatables are safety checked in line with applicable industry requirements. Existing inflatables are inspected annually through PIPA where applicable, while newly purchased equipment is supplied with the appropriate manufacturer safety checks.
11. Power supply
The customer must provide access to a safe and suitable electrical supply unless another arrangement has been agreed.
Extension cables and electrical equipment supplied by Bouncing Around must not be moved, unplugged, covered or tampered with.
The customer must tell us before the booking if the power supply is more than 25 metres from the setup area.
12. Party machines and ingredients
Instructions will be provided for the safe operation of slush, popcorn and candy floss machines.
Standard machine hire includes ingredients for approximately 30 people, unless otherwise stated. Extra ingredients and additional slush mixture can be supplied at an additional cost.
The slush machine holds approximately 10 litres.
The customer is responsible for following all instructions and ensuring that children do not operate machinery without responsible adult supervision.
13. Delays and collection times
Delivery and collection times will be arranged as closely as possible, but exact times may be affected by traffic, weather, access issues or earlier bookings.
The customer must ensure that someone aged 18 or over is present at the agreed delivery and collection times.
14. Cancellation by the customer
Customers should contact Bouncing Around as soon as possible if they need to cancel or change a booking.
Deposits may be transferred to another available date at our discretion. Deposits are generally non-refundable where the customer cancels for reasons unrelated to extreme weather or an action by Bouncing Around.
15. Right to refuse or end a hire
Bouncing Around reserves the right to refuse installation or end a hire where:
- The setup area is unsafe
- Weather conditions are unsuitable
- Incorrect information was provided
- The equipment is being misused
- Safety instructions are ignored
- Abusive or threatening behaviour occurs
No refund will normally be provided where a hire is stopped because the customer or users have failed to follow the agreed conditions.
16. Acceptance of the terms
By paying the deposit, signing the hire agreement or accepting delivery of the equipment, the customer confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
The customer also accepts responsibility for ensuring that everyone using the equipment follows the safety rules and instructions provided.
